100 guests in attendance.

Markus Göbel, Senior Public Relations Manager Telefónica Germany, welcomed the audience and explained how Telefonica is using Artificial Intelligence to advance customer satisfaction. Telefónica is implementing AI in many ways in their products.The application of cognitive capabilities to its platforms will allow Telefónica’s customers to know, manage, and control their digital lives with the company, and discover new customer propositions.

The co-founder of AI-Hub Europe, Daniel Abbou, provided a brief introduction to Artificial Intelligence: Where we are today, where we could be tomorrow, how a computer program was able to beat Grandmasters in the ancient game Go and how speech pattern- and image recognition is changing the way we use our appliances.

Author Thomas Ramge, co-founder of AI-Hub Europe, spoke about the impact Artificial Intelligence is having on economics, politics and society. He is the technology correspondent for the German business magazine brand eins and writes for The Economist. His books have won multiple awards, e.g. the Financial Times Business Book award, the Herbert Quandt Media award and the ADC award and the Best of Corporate Publishing award. You can find his latest books here:

Stefan Heumann, co-director of the think tank Stiftung Neue Verantwortung (SNV) took the opportunity to explain the capabilities of Artificial Intelligence, and what the German government would have to do to to compete in the international AI race. Stefan built up the European Digital Agenda program with Ben Scott at SNV and led it until March 2016, laying the foundations for further developing SNV into a think tank for society in technological change..

After a lively discussion with the audience, the rest of the event was used for networking purposes.
